Gustav Klimt
Melody Ross is teaching about Gustav Klimt for week five.
Gustav Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter. He was most known for his use of gold leaf in his paintings. Using gold stems from growing up with a father who was a goldsmith and using materials he brought home.
Techniques
- His paintings usually surrounded themes of gold , love, and doodles
- Most inspired by Japanese art and Egyptian symbols
- worked mostly oil on canvas but also used watercolor and charcoal.
What I learned
Everything he painted is so distinct it's very hard to imitate.
For my inspired by Klimt I took to his tree landscapes and added lots of swirls and doodles.
