My Favorite Books

I've always loved to read. Reading is an escape to a different time and place and while its controlled somewhat by the author, there's a lot that's left up to the imagination. How many times have books been turned into movies and people say it wasnt what they expected or that the book was better. One reason, is because they write the movie with a very loose outline of the book instead of following the book. But a think another large reason is because when we get caught up in a book we create our own worlds of the book and for each person reading the book that world is different despite similarities the books creates for everyone who reads it.

Something I realized making a list of favorite books is that a favorite book is one that stands the test of times and grows with us. It is still fun to read no matter much we have changed, we can go back to it time and again.

These are some of those books for me:

1. The Shopaholic Series  by Sophie Kinsella
Becky Bloomwood is lighthearted and relatable flawed as she tries to get her life and finances together while continually digging a deeper hole!

2. The List by Marian Jordan Ellis
This is a nonfiction book about letting go of the imaginary (or literal)  list we have planned for ours lives and giving our plans over God. It's a lot to think about and take it but that's part of the reason it's easy to go back. There's always a news plans to let go of and new things to learn.

3. The French Twist Series by Sandra Byrd
This is just a really fun New Adult book set in a french bakery and partly in Paris. Lexi Stuart is genuine, vulnerable, and fun to get to know.

4.  The Sisterhood Series by Ann Brashares
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants will become a classic. It's a great story of friendship and starts with something that would boggle all of our minds- how can one pair of pants looks perfect on four different friends?

5. Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery
Anne is so charming and imaginative. Her perspective is a story within the story!
