Just Add Watercolor

Just Add Watercolor
By Helen Birch

About the book:

Featuring 200 of the best works of young, modern watercolor painters, paired with bite-sized painting tips and art instruction, Just Add Watercolor gives aspiring artists access to information about--and examples of--top work in the medium. Artist and instructor Helen Birch breaks down each painting by techniques, subject matter, and tools, providing art enthusiasts and painters with a one-stop resource and gallery of the best that modern watercolor has to offer. Its small trim size with one painting per spread provides a bold, but user-friendly alternative to traditional, process-heavy painting instruction texts. Just Add Watercolor shines the spotlight on featured paintings, while still giving readers all the insights needed to get started painting in this popular medium.

My thoughts:
"Just Add Watercolor' is a cute little book filled with new artists and great pictures. It is a compilation of modern, contemporary artists and the water media techniques they use. The right side pages have pictures of the featured artist's work while the left side introduces the artists, explains their art, and examines their technique.

It's a fun book to look through seeing all the pictures and forms of art. The added bonus is for those familiar with watercolor and learning new ideas to use. However, "Just Add Watercolor" is not an instructional book or one to look to in learning watercolor but beginners will be inspired by all of watercolors possibilities.

Art Inspired Fashion -Watercolor

If you haven't noticed already, I'm a huge fan of watercolor!  I get excited to see it's influence in fashion and other places.

This Donna Morgandress is airy and spring like with its broad and lose flower print.

This Anthropologie Abstraction Backpack is super cute and fun as it looks like watercolors were tossed onto canvas randomly, yet perfectly! It even made Lucky Magazine's 16th cm packs that won't make you look like a high schooler.
So this isn't fashion but it is beautiful. I love how it isn't completely covered in watercolor and how the fondent looks like touched fabric. This cake was made by For Goodness Cakes
and named by Bride's magazine 50 most beautiful wedding cakes. Scroll through this list- they are ALL AH-MAZING

Aren't these Alice & Olivia pumps a delicate little beauty!

These Tory Burch heels are darling, so delicate and dainty.

Oh my word! I never would've thought of mixing glitter and suede.

Leave a bit of sparkle every where you go!
